Why I teach English

I know first hand how powerful language can be in opening doors. I also know how limiting it can be when you don’t have the words to express yourself.

I often felt that way while living in Spain and navigating daily life in a second language. My own struggles to join in conversations and connect with people in the way that I wanted to are what drive my passion for helping others overcome similar language challenges.

Business Experience

With 17 years of experience working in the drinks industry, I understand the language and communication skills that professionals need in the workplace.  Having worked in sales and marketing roles in the Scotch Whisky industry, I know how important clear communication is in a business setting.

I can help you build the language skills necessary to thrive at work. Whether it’s preparing for meetings, delivering presentations, or simply communicating more clearly and effectively, I can help you overcome language barriers and succeed when using English at work.

I have a degree in Spanish Language and History and began teaching English in Spain in 2004,  working with the British Council.

As a CELTA-qualified English teacher, I specialise in teaching Business English.

I’m a qualified Mindfulness-Based Living Course (MBLC) teacher certified by The Mindfulness Association. I am in the second year of a Master’s degree in Mindfulness at the University of Aberdeen.
